What is relationship coaching?

Relationship coaching explores past, current or future romantic relationships through one-on-one work with a qualified coach. Clients are guided through a series of questions, reflections, and exercises designed to help them get crystal clear on what it is they are seeking to accomplish in their love life. Coaching can serve as a protective, preventative approach for those who are content and simply want to grow and learn about relational wellness, or as an intervention for those experiencing more challenging dynamics and wanting additional support.

How does coaching differ from therapy?

Coaching is an exploratory and educational experience designed to help clients achieve their relationship goals. Therapy is a more comprehensive psychological service provided by trained clinicians who are qualified to diagnose and treat serious issues such as domestic violence, infidelity, substance abuse, mental disorders, trauma, etc. For more information on the difference between therapy, counseling, and coaching, check out this article.

Who is relationship coaching for?

Anyone who is eager to learn more about themselves and their partners, gain insight through meaningful discussions and fun exercises, and develop interpersonal skills to navigate romantic relationships more effectively. Singles benefit by mental and emotional preparation prior to entering a relationship, couples benefit by strengthening their current relationship, polyamorous partners benefit by learning how to navigate multiple relationships, and partnered individuals who want to attend alone benefit by having a safe place to privately discuss details of their their current relationship situation.

What makes Meghna a unique coach?

Dr. Meghna Mahambrey is an award-winning instructor, TEDxColumbus speaker, and relationship coach who earned her doctorate from Ohio State University focusing on romantic relationships, sexual satisfaction, and the evolution of marriage. Having taught college courses on intimate relationships and human sexuality for over a decade, Meghna is known for her eloquent and articulate teaching style.  She has also attended trainings by The Gottman Institute (author of Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work), Esther Perel (author of Mating in Captivity), and Dr. Gary Chapman (author of The Five Love Languages). We are also excited to welcome Meghna's husband Andy Kuss, co-founder of SPARK, as a new coach!


What will coaching sessions consist of?

Coaching is relaxed and fun, making sessions feel more like casual conversations than clinical appointments. Sessions include meaningful introspection, thought-provoking exercises, and concrete action steps. The coach will weave educational information throughout sessions by highlighting research findings related to clients' questions or concerns, sharing real-world examples of what others experience in similar situations, offering practical strategies to help clients reach their goals, and throwing in their own two cents based on personal experiences and observations. As your coach, we will provide valuable insight and guidance, but as the client, you are ultimately the architect of your love life - the results are in your hands.

How much does relationship coaching cost?

Coaching sessions are available in packages of 4, 8, or 12 sessions; check out our packages and pricing for current rates. Please note, we do not accept insurance. Consultations and one-off sessions are not available at this time. Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment is due in full prior to the first coaching session (monthly payment plans available upon request).

What are the scheduling logistics?

Meghna currently offers coaching sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-8pm, Thursdays from 12-4pm, and the first Saturday of every month from 9am-12pm. Andy currently offers coaching sessions the first Saturday of every month from 1-4pm. Weekly or biweekly attendance is recommended. Upon purchasing a package, you'll be prompted to set your desired start date, after which you can schedule sessions at your convenience using the online calendar (booking all sessions as soon as possible is the best way to secure preferred time slots).

Are coaching sessions in-person or virtual?

The default format for coaching sessions is in-person at the SPARK office (693 1/2 High Street, Suite B, Worthington, OH 43085) however you may request virtual sessions if needed and a Zoom link will be provided. For in-person sessions, free parking is available along High Street, side streets, and the New England Ave. guest lot behind the building. Client punctuality is appreciated; please allow enough travel time for traffic and parking as sessions will end on time regardless of when clients arrive. Clients are asked to take a seat in the hallway until their scheduled session time and the coach will invite you in when they are ready.
